| The
last millennium has passed and has witnessed people functioning, individually
or collectively, on the basis of their own selfishness. The nature of
selfishness is the feeling of scarcity and imperfection, which does
not allow a human being to initiate actions, projects, or programs for
helping others. This lack of friendship and lack of feeling fellowship
and oneness has caused wars, battles, feuds, quarrels, killing, and
destruction—all of which are not liked, in the core of the heart, by
anyone. Because of selfishness, a human being becomes helplessly driven
to perform destructive actions. Having become fully aware of this fact, the heart of Shyam Space pulsates
with the wish that in this new millennium, beginning from the year 2000,
we should change our behaviour, actions, interactions, and dealings
which have been based on selfishness, and infuse our hearts and minds
with the sense of selflessness, the nature of which is the knowledge
of our fellow feelings, our friendship, oneness, and love for one another,
and the sense of kindness for all living creatures and environments. How to unfold and generate the sense of selflessness is through being
tuned in to the source of human existence and the existence of all beings
as well as the existence of nature. The source of all states of existence
is the Shyam blue sky, the Space that represents indivisibility and
oneness, the pure love, which is without any feelings of personal gain.
As the sky gives room and support and showers of energy to the whole
earth, in the same way the space of the heart gives room and accommodation
to the body as a whole. If we add the knowledge of Space by thinking
in an entirely new way—that our true nature is the Space, which is the
true nature of all the beings, sentient or insentient—and if each one
of us thinks, contemplates, concentrates, and meditates for at least
five minutes in the morning, as soon as he or she gets up, we will remember
our true nature, which is the knowledge of love, friendship, oneness,
and our fellow feelings. Then, for the whole day, the whole month, the
whole year, and centuries after centuries, the millennium will witness
human beings living in the atmosphere of love and friendship, co-operation
and help, with a sense of service for one another. The space of the heart is Amaram, which means forever free; and Madhuram,
which means forever blissful, and free from the sense of bondage and
the sense of causing pain to anyone. In short, the message of Shyam
Space is the eternal mantra Amaram Hum Madhuram Hum. Speak this phrase
silently in your heart with the awareness that the heart space of everyone
is love, delight, bliss, and selflessness, which means oneness. Each one has to practise this formula daily for five minutes and apply
this knowledge in his life. Then the millennium will witness a new sun,
which will bring the eternal Light to every pair of eyes on earth.
